Your savings rate

The most important number early in your financial journey.

The formulaSavings rate % = amount saved each month ÷ monthly income × 100

Example

Income 900 rials, saving 150:

Savings rate150 ÷ 900 × 100
Result= 16.7%

In the early years, lifting your savings rate from 10% to 15% makes more difference than chasing a few extra points of return.

Start with a rate you can keep every month, and raise it with every pay rise.
