Debt payments as a share of income
The number banks check before any financing.
Payment ratio % = total monthly repayments ÷ monthly income × 100Example
Income 1,000 rials; repayments: car 180 and card 100:
Repayments180 + 100 = 280
Ratio280 ÷ 1,000 × 100
Payment ratio= 28%
Banks cap this ratio — check the limit your bank applies. But being under the cap doesn't make a payment comfortable: every rial of repayment is a rial not saved.
